Città di Mantova Hut, owned by the Gressoney Alpine Guides, is located at 3,498 meters on the Monte Rosa Glacier at Garstelet.
It is the starting point for the main Monte Rosa ascents, including Margherita Hut, Piramide Vincent, Cristo delle Vette, Lyskamm, Dufour, and Col del Lys.
In the basement, there are facilities including showers and a changing room, where mountaineers can change and leave their climbing equipment.Al piano interrato trovano spazio i servizi igienici con le docce e lo spogliatoio, dove gli alpinisti potranno cambiarsi e lasciare la loro attrezzatura alpinistica. Al piano terreno un’ampia sala da pranzo con una magnifica vista sul Monte Rosa, dalla capacità di 100 posti a sedere circa, risponde alle esigenze relative alla capienza del rifugio, 120 posti in camere e camerate riscaldate con letti a castello.
All ascents from Mantova Hut are alpine in nature and require high-mountain equipment and mountaineering skills.
